SBAN was a new organization, created to combat the forces of gentrification that threaten BIPOC- and immigrant-owned small businesses. As such, they needed an identity that felt place-based and community-focused—while simultaneously universal—since their work is often in academic and policy circles.
Our brand for SBAN uses bold primary colors, rooted in historic social movements. It walks the line between modern and retro, honoring the legacy that small businesses bring to their communities. The result is a cohesive but expansive identity that has grown to include yearly conference branding, social media infographics, icons, and a custom website crafted with our partners at Drio.
