We all know that storytelling is critical to reaching and maintaining an audience. But content creation can be a persistent challenge for nonprofits—especially with limited resources and multiple communications channels. Fortunately though, it’s easier than ever to illustrate your messages with beautiful, free imagery. You just have to know where to look.
Over the years, I’ve curated a long list of online bookmarks for the free and low-cost imagery that we use in our design projects. But after sharing them with clients informally, I’ve decided it was time to organize them into one interactive PDF: Free and Low-Cost Digital Imagery Resources for Nonprofits. In it, you’ll find dozens of links to image archives you can use for your communications projects and to help in creating content. It also contains definitions to often-confusing imagery terms such as “royalty free” and “public domain.”
