Frederick Keys Minor League baseball game

The Frederick Keys, at home against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans

Just last week, I had the privilege to spend a pleasantly mild evening at a Frederick Keys baseball game. There was a fun mood in the air, not only because the Keys beat the visiting Myrtle Beach Pelicans, but also because it was “Superheroes Night,” and the stadium was filled with adults and kids in every sort of superhero costume imaginable.

The night also had another theme: superheroes are very real, and among us! By the simple act of choosing to be an organ donor, every one of us can save a life—or several. It’s a fact that hits home every day for the many organ and tissue recipients and their families throughout Maryland.

On behalf of The Living Legacy Foundation, Ideal Design had the fantastic opportunity to design the “caped” superhero jerseys worn by the Frederick Keys on this special night. These official MiLB game jerseys were then signed and auctioned off to benefit The LLF. (The shirts came right off the backs of the players after the 9th inning!) Most, importantly, the jerseys communicate a message of what it means to be a true hero. Here’s hoping that these keepsakes will continue inspire baseball fans and players for years to come.
