It’s easy to imagine what a new organ might mean to a donation recipient—survival. A new lease on life. But what does donation mean to the families of the deceased organ donors? The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland asked that question in their annual calendar, and the responses are incredibly powerful. We teamed with local artist Sarah Alexander to illustrate the families’ statements, each paired with a painting of native Maryland flora.
